Empowered Events was founded in 2021 by Sarah Austin — an award-winning events professional who turned adversity into ambition. Following redundancy, a journey through blindness, and a pandemic that silenced the events industry, Sarah channelled her resilience into building something exceptional.

Sarah Austin

Sarah Austin is one of the UK's most respected awards events professionals — with over 15 years of experience creating and producing industry-leading ceremonies, summits, and galas.

"When the pandemic took everything away, I chose to build something bigger than what I'd lost."

In 2021, following redundancy and a personal journey through blindness, Sarah founded Empowered Events with a clear vision: to bring world-class events back to life, and to put women at the centre of business recognition.

Today Sarah produces events attended by heads of state, BAFTA winners, Michelin-starred chefs and national media — while never losing sight of her mission to empower.
